The Bruin to Bruin project is a student-run, student-centered introduction to UCLA for new undergraduate students, comprised of a combination of Zoom sessions, social media content, and Bruin Day.

Bruin Day

Join us on Bruin Day for a showcase of all UCLA has to offer!  Admitted first-year student (direct from high school) Bruin Day is Saturday, April 11, and admitted transfer student (from another college or university) Bruin Day is Saturday, May 16.  Our professional staff will be joined by members of our New Student Advisor (NSA) team who can answer you questions and provide first-hand insights into the UCLA experience.  Visit our open house tent in Bruin Plaza, take a picture with the Bruin Bear statue, and attend our presentations on next steps for new students!

Zoom Sessions

The Zoom sessions are a great opportunity to meet with current and incoming UCLA students in small groups and get advice on preparing to transition to UCLA.  Sign up beginning April 11 for  sessions from April 13 through June 9, with each session designed to provide you with:

  • An overview of the New Student Checklists’ important dates and deadlines
  • Information on reserving and preparing for your New Student Orientation session
  • General guidance on academic requirements and placement exams
  • Referrals to useful campus resources and answers to your questions
  • An opportunity to connect with current students as well as your fellow new Bruins

Your Bruin to Bruin session will be hosted by a New Student Advisor (NSA)  – a current UCLA student and last for about 45 minutes. The first few minutes will be introductions and getting everyone situated. Once that is completed, you will be placed in a small group of students and have a discussion that will last the remainder of the session.

Sign up on My.UCLA with this link, or go to the Campus Life tab, then Event Reservations, and search for “Bruin to Bruin”. The day before your Bruin to Bruin session date, you will be emailed a Zoom link and password; please check your email for this information in order to enter your session.
