Beginning in Spring Quarter, the New Student & Transition Programs staff begins calling all of the newly admitted students to officially welcome them to UCLA.

This phone call will begin your transition into UCLA; as it will help you prepare for the upcoming deadlines that will take place during the summer, give you information about New Student Orientation, and answer any questions you may have. Some topics that will be covered include:

NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION

The UCLA New Student Orientation is designed each year to accomplish the following goals:

 

NEW STUDENT MENTORING NETWORK

The New Student Mentoring Network is a program designed to pair incoming first-year and transfer students with a mentor for their first quarter at UCLA. Students will be able to sign up for the network at New Student Orientation and will be matched with their mentor during True Bruin Welcome Week. The goals of the mentoring network are to help:

 

ORIENTATION PART 2

Orientation Part 2 is an evening event in Fall Quarter where New Student Advisors will be available for drop-in counseling to answer any questions you may have in preparing for Winter Quarter.

TRUE BRUIN TRADITIONS KEEPER

The True Bruin Traditions Keeper program aims to connect students to UCLA through activities and experiences that are unique to the Bruin community. From the moment you step foot onto this campus at New Student Orientation, you become a Bruin for life. Participate in these many traditions and be awarded the True Bruin Traditions Keeper medal at Commencement.
